15 hours each license renewal cycle 

LICENSES RENEW EVERY 3 Years 

Current renewal is Dec 31,2024 

Courses must be N E C RELATED 

Courses can be online or in person 

There is no MANDATORY COURSE 

You just need 15 hours total 

NEC RELATED NO SAFETY NO BUSINESS NO REHAB CODE 

34 hours each license renewal cycle 

10 hours must be in person 9 hrs NEC 1 hr NJ LAW 

(9 hr NEC 1 hr Law is a mandatory course for Contractors) 

Remaining 24 hours must be NJ board approved courses 

All 24 hours can be VIRTUAL ONLINE OR IN PERSON 

8 bourse can be ONLINE AT YOU PACE PRERECORDED 

LICENSES RENEW MARCH 31,2027 

City  of Philadelphia

Electrical Contractors must have 

8 hours each year within 12 months of your renewal date 

MOST OLDER LICENSES RENEW 

JUNE 30 each year 

Recently issued Licenses 

Renewals are staggered based on when your license was issued . 

COURSES MUST BE BASED ON THE NEC & You cannot take the same course twice in the same renewal period  

Delaware Master 10 hr each renewal 

Delaware Journeyman 5 hrs each renewal
